Registration & Breakfast

Check-in at the registration desk to receive your program, credentials, and other convention materials. Once you have checked in, head up to the third floor for a buffet style breakfast.

9:30 – 10:30 am

Committee Meetings 

Credentials Committee

The Credentials Committee has the authority over chapter credentialing at the state convention and shall determine the number of votes to which each chapter is entitled.

Rules Committee

The Rules Committee has authority over proposals to the Constitution & Bylaws and rules for the state convention.

Building a People Powered Party

Building for the future in Alabama starts with building a party powered by the people. This workshop will walk you through how to fund and organize your party on the county level in order to recruit members, win elections, and make Alabama a better place.

Voting Registration and Restoration

Voting rights have been under attack in Alabama, and it is up to us to get people to the polls. During this training the ACLU of Alabama will walk you through voter registration best practices and how to restore someone’s voting rights.

Chapter Officer Training

Chapter Officers are crucial to the success of the Alabama Young Democrats. Come learn the basics on how to lead a chapter, meet your officer co-hort, and give feedback to the Executive Board on what you would like to see during the 2019-2021 biennium.

Working with Your County Party

To build for the future, Democrats must work together. That’s why it is important for Young Democrat chapters to have a functional relationship with their County Party. This workshop will walk you through best practices on cooperation.

Building Your Message Panel

We can’t win without a winning message. Learn how to frame your message and utilize the media with this panel of journalists, correspondents, and public relations professionals.
