The Alabama Young Democrats executive board consists of nine positions:
- President
- Executive Vice President
- National Committeemember Place 1
- National Committeemember Place 2
- Vice President Place 1
- Vice President Place 2
- Vice President Place 3
- Vice President Place 4
- Secretary-Treasurer
To run for office, you must be a resident of the state of Alabama, be committed to the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, be an active member of your local AYD chapter and be at least 16 years old. To serve as President, National Committeeman or National Committeewoman, you must not reach the age of 36 prior to Summer of 2024.
