Disability Issues Caucus – North G

Join the YDA Disability Issues Caucus for a meeting featuring guest speaker Alabama State Senator Linda Coleman-Madison. She is serving her fourth term in the Senate, having previously served one term in the Alabama House of Representatives District 60, and three terms on the Birmingham City Council. Professionally she is an Americans with Disabilities Compliance Administrator. Senator Coleman serves on the board of directors for the Birmingham Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Positive Maturity Board in Jefferson County and serves as State Director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators, Inc., the Lakeshore Foundation, Alabama Industries for the Deaf and Blind (Birmingham Region), and the Alabama Head Injury Foundation.

Join the YDA Asian-American and Pacific Islander Caucus for a meeting featuring guest speaker Quang Do. Quang is a young Democrat and was the first Vietnamese candidate for state office (statehouse) in Alabama. He was also named a 2016 White House Champion of Change and is a nationally recognized advocate for social equity. Quang is currently a program officer at the Community Foundation.

The BCYDA meeting will also feature remarks from Huntsville City Council President Devyn Keith. Devyn is a young democrat and was sworn in as a member of the Huntsville City Council in November 2016.
